GlobalRoam selected by StarHub's Advanced Multimedia Services as technology provider for pfingoTALK VoIP service

Singapore, 9 April 2007 - GlobalRoam Group Limited proudly announces that it was selected by StarHub’s Advanced Multimedia Services as the technology provider to co-develop pfingoTALK, a voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) service under the new pfingo brand of mobile Internet solutions currently in public trial phase.

pfingoTALK has been designed to provide end-users with a consistent and user-friendly experience for voice communication across the mobile phone and PC. The pfingoTALK client comes in two versions, which allow beyond traditional PC-to-PC calling. Call termination over the Internet can be done to any phone number around the world directly from the pfingoTALK softphone client on a broadband connected PC or a SIP-based Wi-Fi mobile phone via a Wi-Fi hotspot. Using patent-pending processes, pfingoTALK also provides value added features such as phone-to-PC calling as well as SMS services.

Unlike other VoIP services in the market, pfingoTALK users get their own ‘3’ series phone number which they can keep for life, no matter which country they are based in. During the trial period, they can make free calls to any pfingoTALK number, regardless of the location of the caller or receiver. Phone calls to any Singapore mobile or fixed-line phone number are also free. Users can also obtain an overseas number that is linked to their pfingoTALK account so that contacts in that country can dial this number and pay only the respective local call rate.
